Nestlé Waters North America has businesses in the United States and Canada.  Total sales for 2006 were $3.846 billion; $3.567 billion in the U.S. and $279 million in Canada.  Both businesses have one distinct advantage, that our main focus is on one type of product:  bottled water. U.S. Industry Trends
People are increasingly returning to water as their choice of refreshment and a source of well-being.  In fact, in 2005 82 percent of adults, ages 18-59, consume bottled water; 70 percent consume at least one bottle per week.*

It seems like everyone appreciates bottled water’s convenience, healthfulness, good taste and dependable quality. After all, it’s full of refreshment, and free of calories and additives. Bottled water is the fastest growing segment of the entire beverage industry at a 8.7 percent growth rate in dollar sales for 2006, second only to soft drinks in popularity and rapidly narrowing the gap. Almost all that growth for more than 10 years has been in the small, convenient sizes as people choose bottled water as a refreshment alternative to soft drinks, juices and caffeinated drinks. This small-bottle segment represents 64 percent of total bottled water dollar sales, and has experienced continuous growth of more than 25 percent each year.

U.S. Company Trends

Our spring water brands are top performers and our significant investments in our people, facilities and technology have led to high-speed manufacturing practices and a low-cost distribution system. The result is that Nestlé Waters North America represented 32.4 percent ($) of the bottled water market in 2006, with sales of $3.846 billion.
