Project WET is an award-winning, international, nonprofit water science and education program located in Bozeman, Montana, USA.

Established in 1984, Project WET works with sponsors, educators, resource professionals, business leaders, policy makers and citizens to create, develop,
and implement water education projects. Project WET meets the needs of diverse groups, relying on public and private partnerships to accomplish its work. The Project WET International Foundation is sponsored by the generous and visionary support of Valerie Gates and Nestlé Waters.

Nestlé Waters Management and Technology (NWMT), headquartered in Paris, is a major sponsor of Project WET International’s efforts. Through the sponsorship of Nestlé Waters, Project WET is able to donate the Project WET Curriculum and Activity Guide and support services to organizations dedicated to promoting water education in their respective countries. The Nestlé Waters’ support also enables Project WET to offer support services that ensure sustainable water education programs in the sponsoring countries.

Project WET is a global network of individuals who care about reaching children
with information and education materials on water resources, its management and protection.

In some countries, such as Canada (1996), the Northern Marianas Islands (1997), American Samoa (1998), Mexico (1999), Togo (2003) and Fiji (2005), the program is implemented by civic or civil organizations. In others, such as Hungary, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam (2005), it is spearheaded by Nestlé Waters employees.

Reflecting this growth, NWMT sponsorship is supporting translation of Project WET materials in French, Spanish, Arabic, Hungarian and Vietnamese – with other languages soon to follow.

As a result, Project WET International is considered the leading resource in water education, with an international reputation for effective local implementation. In addition, it is a leader in global education conferences, such as the World Water Forum. Project WET has been a featured educator program at renowned water conferences, such as the World Water Forum, World Water Congress, World Environmental Education Center, North American Association for Environmental Education and the Cannes Water Symposium.
