Kim Jeffery Speaks at Resource Recycling Conference

Aug 28, 2013

On Tuesday August 27, Kim Jeffery spoke in the opening plenary at the Resource Recycling Conference in Louisville, Kentucky entitled, “Packaging and Recycling: Where Are We Headed?”

He discussed policy opportunities for packaging and printed paper, describing the benefits and challenges of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). NWNA has been advocating for EPR policies for several years as a way to transform our nation’s recycling system, in partnership with the non-profit organization, Recycling Reinvented, who was also in attendance.

Kim was joined by fellow panelists Donna Dempsey of AMERIPEN, who touched upon packaging regulation, as well as Alan Blake of PAC NEXT, envisioned what a world without packaging waste would look like.
