Nestlé Waters North America Celebrates Earth Day

Apr 25, 2014

More than four decades after its founding, Earth Day continues to provide a day of education and actions around environmental issues.  To mark Earth Day, Nestlé Water North America (NWNA) employees continued the company’s tradition of volunteering to support environmental projects across the country.

More than 40 employees and their families from NWNA’s Arrowhead® Brand 100% Mountain Spring Water joined the Southern California Mountains Foundation and the  to help restore designated forest land in the Big Bear Valley.  Together, they treated more than two acres of forest land by planting 220 willows, watering new seedlings, and eliminating more than 50 pounds of non-native plant material.

At NWNA headquarters in Stamford, Conn., student recycling projects were on display. Inspired by NWNA’s “Endless Possibilities” YouTube video, Long-Island fourth-graders turned empty Nestlé Pure Life .5L water bottles into new resources - such as birdfeeders, lava lamps and rocket ships.

These are just some of the many ways NWNA celebrated Earth Day. From Massachusetts to Tampa to Dallas, employees participated in community clean-ups, flower planting and hosted environmental education programs.

Earth Day is a reminder that if we each do a little 365 days a year, the cumulative effects are much bigger.
