On October 25, 2014, celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Zephyrhills brand culminated with an Open House at the plant in Zephyrhills, FL, where the local community was invited to visit and take a tour of the state-of-the-art bottling facility in their backyard for the first time. Dozens of NWNA employees volunteered their time leading up to and during the event, eager to show their neighbors the hard work they do every day.
The event kicked-off with the presentation of a $50,000 donation to Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful and Tampa Bay Watch, two nonprofit organizations NWNA has partnered with to support clean up and education events at parks along the Hillsborough River and help restore Tampa Bay.
Over 1,200 attendees enjoyed educational and fun activities - including live music and a free barbeque lunch - throughout the beautiful day. The WaterVentures truck, an educational mobile lab supported by NWNA and the Crystal Springs Preserve, was there to teach attendees about environmental stewardship, inspiring an appreciation, understanding and respect for Florida’s Water resources. Zephyrhills also invited attendees to share their #FLfavorites with us, continuing the year-long campaign to celebrate the brand’s home.
“We are thrilled to open our doors today to the local community and present Keep Tampa Bay beautiful and Tampa Bay Watch with this donation in celebration of our 50th anniversary initiative,” said Donald Bowen, Plant Manager in Zephyrhills. “We are honored to celebrate what’s most natural in Florida and continue to help preserve Florida’s waterways and natural resources in the future.”
