Putting the Michigan Community First

Donating Water to Central Michigan

In the wake of historic floods that caused two dam breaches in Central Michigan on May 19, BlueTriton Brands has been working with Michigan Emergency Management and a local fire department to assist first responders and residents in need. The dam failures caused devastating flooding and forced the evacuation of more than 10,000 residents in towns including Edenville, Sanford and Midland. To date, we have donated over 275,000 bottles of water from our Mecosta factory to the Midland area.

Supporting the Flint Community

We firmly believe in everyone’s right to have access to clean, safe drinking water. We are always prepared to provide assistance where and when it’s needed, and we are pleased to  continue our support of the Flint community.

That is why, since 2015, we have been involved in doing our part to help ensure the residents there have access to safe, clean drinking water. In October 2015, we began donating bottled water to the residents of Flint, and in January 2016, we collaborated with a broader coalition to meet the water needs of more than 10,000 public school students in the city.

Since we began providing approximately 100,000 bottles of water per week to three Flint Help Centers in May 2018, we have worked closely with the city, non-governmental organizations and the Flint community to understand how we can best help meet their needs. From May 2018 through April 2020, we have donated approximately 10 million bottles of water to Flint.

Since the COVID-19 crisis has kept certain at-risk groups from getting to the Help Centers to pick up water, we have increased our donations. We have been working with Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley to deliver an incremental 90,000+ bottles to the city of Flint for distribution to its residents who cannot leave their homes.

Giving Back to Osceola and Mecosta-Area Communities

We have been good neighbors in both big and small ways. We donated $80,000 to help renovate the Evart High School ball fields, including much-needed upgrades and repairs.

We also partnered with Keep America Beautiful to help provide needed funding for construction and electrical upgrades at the City of Evart’s recycling center, which just opened in the summer of 2019.

Additionally, we donated $10,000 toward the installation of a new well in Bromley Park in Mecosta to provide a much-needed source of fresh, drinking water for residents to enjoy while attending events hosted at the park, particularly during the summer.

Last, but not least, we consistently donate food, water and other supplies through first responders to help communities in need.

Providing On-The-Go Hydration

We have also served our Michigan communities more than 1,500 gallons of water from our Ice Mountain® Hydration Station, which visits various local events to enable community members to fill their cups or reusable water bottles free of charge.

We proudly partner with WOOD-TV and the Maranda Park Parties to help hydrate communities throughout Michigan during the warm summer months.
