The U.S. Geological Survey is beginning in depth monitoring and studies of water levels around a Nestlé Waters USA pumping site.
Nestlé requested the ongoing government studies of groundwater and surface water near the White Pine Springs site in Osceola Township. Nestlé pumps water there to supply its Ice Mountain bottling plant in Stanwood.
The U.S. Geological Survey and Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy are collaborating on the continual studies.
