In 2016, bottled water surpassed carbonated soft drinks for the first time to become the number one packaged beverage by volume in the United States. Bottled water makes it easy for people to drink water and help save calories with every sip. In fact, research has shown that when bottled water is not available, consumers will choose a sweetened beverage instead.1
