On October 26, Kim Jeffery, Chairman Emeritus, will take part in two speaking engagements at the 2013 Net Impact Conference, where he will discuss a variety of Corporate Social Responsibility issues. The Net Impact Conference brings together over 3,000 students and professionals who want careers that allow them to make a positive social or environmental impact.
At 10:15 A.M., Kim will participate in a friendly debate discussing corporations’ ever-changing role in social change, entitled, “Are Corporations More Effective Activists than Individuals?” The panel will be moderated by Rebecca Busse, Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager of Future 500. Kim will be joined by fellow panelists Jason McBriarty, Director of Global Community Affairs for Levi Strauss & Co., Patricia Jurewicz, Director of Responsible Sourcing Network and Alexis Morgan, Director of the Global Water Roundtable at WWF.
At 3:00 P.M., Kim will speak in a second featured session, “Recycling Reinvented: A Conversation with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.,” where moderator Joel Makower of GreenBiz will ask Kim and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about their work on Extended Producer Responsibility and how the private sector can help reduce recycling costs.
