On April 15, Poland Spring® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water is taking over Beantown as the official bottled water sponsor of the Boston Athletic Association's (B.A.A.) Boston Marathon. Elite marathon runner and Poland Spring spokesperson Josh Cox will be joining Poland Spring as the ultimate hydration partner, inspiring runners to perform at their best.
Since Cox has been in Boston for this prestigious event every year since 2001, he’s familiar with the course and the necessity of consistent hydration through each mile marker. “The best advice I can give to the runners in Boston is to stay properly hydrated and run smart through the miles leading up to Heartbreak Hill – it’s going to be tough,” Cox explains. “Hydration is a critical part of any athlete’s success, especially for those striving to perform at their best and Poland Spring is an important part of my workout routine when I’m running in Boston.” This year, more than 26,000 runners will look to Poland Spring for hydration as they race through the streets of Boston and push themselves to cross the finish line in pursuit of their personal goals.
From April 12-14, Poland Spring will have a booth at the 2013 John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo at the John B. Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass. where consumers and race participants will have the opportunity to share their stories of personal betterment on running bibs and explain why they run, serving as inspiration for Monday. On race day, Poland Spring will be providing more than 116,000 .5L bottles of water at the start and finish lines, and more than 46,000 gallons of water along the course to participants.
“Poland Spring is proud to be a part of this historic event and shares in the runners’ passion to be their very best,” says Seona Skwara, Senior Brand Activation Manager. “We are excited to continue our partnership with the Boston Athletic Association and be a running partner for all participating athletes in the 2013 race.”
