On Monday, June 16, Brian Flaherty, Vice President of Government and External Affairs, took part in the Our Ocean Conference sponsored by the U.S. State Department. He joined a panel discussion on marine debris, outlining Nestlé Waters' long and short term plans for recycling and conservation.
The conference focused on sustainable fishing, marine pollution and ocean acidification. It brought together 350-400 participants from more than 80 nations, including government officials, scientists, lawyers, practitioners, and leading international institutions to offer unique perspectives, and implement effective actions.
Brian discussed possible solutions to concerns about marine debris, suggesting a zero-waste approach to beverage packaging by making progress through policy and action.
