On May 2, 2013, Heidi Paul, Nestlé Waters North America (NWNA) executive vice president of corporate affairs, participated in Ceres Conference 2013, an annual conference that unites business leaders, environmentalists and policymakers to discuss opportunities to build a more sustainable economy.
Heidi Paul joined representatives from Google, Ford Motor Company, and Rocky Mountain Institute to consider potential solutions to the today’s energy challenges. Alisa Gravita of Green America moderated the lively discussion, which covered progress the organizations have made to date and obstacles that inhibit companies from moving towards cleaner operations.
Heidi shared NWNA’s approach to energy, which is focuses on increasing energy efficiency, reducing carbon intensity and identifying opportunities to use renewable energy. Since first establishing its citizenship roadmap in 2008, the company has already reduced the energy intensity of our manufacturing by 16%; reduced absolute emissions by 16%; and installed two wind turbines at our Cabazon, California plant.
