Recycling Reinvented Study Findings Support EPR Model For Recycling

Recycling Reinvented Study

A key finding of a recent study conducted by Recycling Reinvented shows that more consumer packaging and printed paper would be recycled under an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) model compared to the current recycling system. Additionally, the cost to recycle the material would be lower than under existing conditions.  This cost/benefit study is the first to analyze an EPR model of recycling, using the State of Minnesota as a model for the study.  Kim Jeffery, chairman of Nestlé Waters North America, serves on the Recycling Reinvented board.
