Recycling Reinvented, with the support of Nestlé Waters North America, New Belgium Brewing, and the Roy A. Hunt Foundation, released the full results of a study on an uniquely-American extended producer responsibility (EPR) recycling model. The first of its kind, the study reveals that EPR for packaging and printed paper can significantly increase stagnant recycling rates for valuable packaging commodities. The new approach involving industry-financing would deliver these improved results at roughly the same cost to consumers as current methods.
