Justmeans Honors Nestlé Waters at the 2012 Social Innovation Awards

At this year’s Ceres conference, Justmeans recognized social innovation through the 2012 Social Innovation Awards. Nestlé Waters North America won Best Online Report for our 2010 online Corporate Citizenship Report. Other awards were presented for best social investment strategy, best use of new media and best integrated report, among others. Ceres is a non-profit network of investors, environmental organizations and other public interest groups working with companies and investors to address sustainability challenges. Ceres mobilizes investors, companies and public interest groups to accelerate and expand the adoption of sustainable business practices and solutions to build a healthy global economy.

The Justmeans Social Innovation Awards exist to honor the global leaders from the business and nonprofit sectors that are tackling global issues through social innovation. Since the Social Innovation Awards launched in early 2009, they have recognized companies that have implemented groundbreaking strategies and programs that drive social and environmental responsibility and innovation. This year marked one of the most diverse years ever as applications came from over 17 countries on five continents and ranged in organizational size from a small startup nonprofit to Fortune 100 companies. Justmeans founder and Chair of 3BL Media Martin Smith announced the winners at the 2012 Social Innovation Awards Ceremony.

Said Smith of the awards, “This year was absolutely one of the most exciting the Social Innovation Awards has been a part of. As social innovation continues to grow its stronghold within the business and nonprofit community, it is fascinating to watch how different organizations are embracing it within their respective strategies.
