#Nestlé150for150 nationwide volunteer effort brings to life Nestlé’s ongoing commitment to building healthy communities in Stamford and beyond
STAMFORD, CT (August 3, 2016) – In celebration of the company’s 150th Anniversary, Nestlé will host its largest single day of organized community service on August 4, 2016 in celebration of its 150th anniversary, Nestlé Waters North America is sponsoring the “Gold Medal Games Fitness Challenge” at the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford.
Some 200 to 300 children are expected to participate in this competition. Some 11 different activities will be held, including Tug-o-War, Relay Races, Softball Toss, Discus Throw, Jump Rope, Soccer Kicks, Football Toss and Foul Shooting contest.
Nestlé Waters is also hosting a habitat restoration at the Mill River to remove invasive species and maintain the meadow. Additionally, a team of employees will be helping the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp build parent camper care packages for an upcoming camper weekend event. These volunteer events will honor Nestlé Water’s connection to the broader community.
Across the country, #Nestlé150for150 will unite more than 6,000 employees from eight different Nestlé operating companies for a day dedicated to 150 volunteer events nationwide.

Nestlé Waters, a major employer in Stamford, has a long history of cooperation with the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford.
State Senator Caroline Simmons will deliver the welcoming remarks at the Boys and Girls Club. Additionally, key staff from the offices of U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, Congressman Jim Himes, and Mayor David Martin are expected to attend the Fitness Challenge and speak to the boys and girls.
