EVART, Michigan– Evart Public Schools is pleased to announce that Nestlé Waters North America (NWNA) is donating $80,000 for the renovation of the varsity and junior varsity baseball and softball fields, providing much-needed upgrades and repairs. Nestlé Waters constructed the fields in their current locations in 2005.
“We are very grateful to Nestlé Waters for their generosity. The financial contributions will not only help our athletic program but also contribute to maintain the ‘Evart Wildcat Pride’ for all of our students,” said Shirley Howard, Superintendent of Evart Public Schools. “The renovated ball fields will be a tremendous asset to our students, our school and our community.”
The planned upgrades include re-soddings along the baselines and infields, renovations to the warning tracks and repairs to fences and the irrigation system.
Construction on the fields is scheduled to begin this fall, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony planned in early April.
“It’s a great pleasure and an honor to assist the Evart Public Schools with the ball field renovations,” said Arlene Anderson-Vincent, Natural Resource Manager for NWNA. “We are proud of our long-term commitment and partnership with the community of Evart.”
