YouTube videos give perspective on bottled water as a well-tested and regulated healthful choice

Greenwich, Conn. (October 21, 2009) – Nestlé Waters North America has produced three YouTube videos in its educational “Things to Know” series. Each short video provides detailed information and facts around bottled water, with the three new segments focusing on delivering consumer information related to the healthful attributes, safety and regulations to which the bottled water industry is held.

Is Bottled Water Good For Your Health?

This video examines the role sugared beverages play in the fact that 65 percent of adult Americans are officially overweight or obese today, and the obesity rate in children has increased by 370 percent over the past 30 years. Viewers will receive information on bottled water’s role as an alternative to sweetened, caloric beverages.

Is Bottled Water Safe?

In this video, consumers will learn how bottled spring water from underground spring sources is better protected from contamination than surface waters. Also included is information on how Nestlé Waters’ quality testing procedures ensure its products meet and exceed quality standards.

Is Bottled Water Regulated?

The third video segment provides an overview on the differences between EPA standards for tap water and the FDA’s standards for bottled water. Joseph Levitt, Former Director of the FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, offers his insight on the quality standards for bottled water.
