Poland Spring’s Robert Langelier, U.S. Air Force Veteran, to drive Poland Spring truck
POLAND SPRING, Maine – For the sixth consecutive year, Poland Spring®Brand 100% Natural Spring Water is participating in the country’s longest veterans parade, Wreaths Across America, by transporting some of the more than 200,000 Maine-made wreaths from Washington County, Maine to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
The weeklong journey will kick-off in Harrington, Maine, on Sunday, December 9, and will conclude in Arlington on Saturday, December 15. Upon arrival at the cemetery, the wreaths will be placed on the tombstones of fallen soldiers; honoring them during this holiday season.
Poland Spring® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water is one of more than 100 Honor Fleet participants supporting this meaningful cause, and will be joined along the way by American Gold Star Mothers, Blue Star Families, Gold Star Wives of America, veterans, and the Wreaths Across America extended family.
In the driver’s seat of the Poland Spring truck this year will be Robert Langelier of Turner, Maine. Langelier served in the United States Air Force from 1978 to 1982, and he has been with Poland Spring for three years. His wife of 32 years, Kathleen Langelier, will be accompanying him on the journey. They have two adult sons.
“Each year, hundreds of corporations, trucking companies, and volunteers come together for this unique and inspirational show of respect and gratitude for our fallen heroes,” said Robert Langelier, Poland Spring Driver. “We’re deeply honored to be part of the Wreaths Across America Honor Fleet.”
The wreath-laying tradition began in 1992 by Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine, and over the years grew into Wreaths Across America, now a national organization. In addition to Arlington National Cemetery, wreaths are placed at 1,400 other military gravesite locations across the country.
