STAMFORD, Conn. — Poland Spring® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, the #1 beverage brand in New York City, is kicking off a “Poland Spring Cheers” campaign in the lead up to the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 2.
A local favorite for generations, Poland Spring has been the official bottled water of the New York City Marathon for the past 20 years. This year, the brand is celebrating this iconic New York event with a unique and innovative video campaign.
Poland Spring will give runners the opportunity to create a special “Poland Spring Cheers” video to toast family and friends who supported their marathon journey. Runners can shoot their videos at booths located at the Poland Spring Marathon Kickoff event on Sunday, October 26 and the TCS New York City Marathon Health and Fitness Expo being held Thursday, October 30 through Saturday, November 1. Those who are not attending either of these events can still participate by creating videos on their phones or computers and share them on social media using #PolandSpringCheers.
An increased awareness about the importance of drinking healthy beverages such as water has led to the increased popularity of bottled water. In New York, Poland Spring outsells all other beverage brands in both dollars and volume. Bottled water outsells carbonated soft drinks in supermarkets in 17 major markets, according to Nielsen data from 2013.

To help make sure first time marathoners are ready for the big race, Poland Spring is also partnering with running nutritionist Lisa Dorfman and New York Road Runners Coach John Honerkamp to provide crucial marathon training tips to optimize performance and prevent injury.
On Tuesday, October 28 and Wednesday, October 29, Poland Spring brand ambassadors will give out Poland Spring samples to passersby in Union Square Station, where Poland Spring is displaying a series of ads thanking New Yorkers for making it the #1 beverage brand of choice in New York City.
