The United States Forest Service (USFS) issued its Notice of Proposed Federal Action for the reissuance of Nestlé Waters North America’s (NWNA) Special Use Permit (SUP) on March 18, 2016. As the USFS has noted, the SUP for NWNA’s 4-inch pipeline remains in effect until the reissuance of the permit.
NWNA is pleased the reissuance process is moving forward. NWNA has been cooperating with the USFS’s requests for documents and information and looks forward to reviewing the Notice and offering any comments as appropriate, along with those of all other interested stakeholders, during the 45-day public comment period.
NWNA agrees with the USFS it is important to manage the usage of water resources to help protect the environment, especially during times of drought. Arrowhead® Brand Mountain Spring Water has been sustainably sourced from the Arrowhead Springs for more than 121 years, and NWNA remains dedicated to environmental stewardship in order to provide healthy hydration to consumers. Together with the USFS, we look forward to further exploring science-based management tools so the water and the forest are available for generations to come.
