Does bottled water come from spring sources or municipal sources?

The majority of Nestlé Waters North America's water comes from spring sources and underground aquifers rather than the lakes, streams and reservoirs that supply most tap water. NWNA Regional Spring Waters are 100% natural spring water, captured at the source and continually tested to ensure the highest quality. The Nestlé® Pure Life® brand of bottled water may begin as groundwater or municipal water, but goes through significant processing including granular activated carbon and reverse osmosis, which are specialized treatments not typically used in municipal supplies. As a result, what gets sealed in the bottle is not tap water, but purified drinking water. Any retail bottle of any brand of Nestlé Waters' bottled water states its source right on the label.
