Charlie Broll joined Nestlé Waters North America (NWNA) in August 2010 as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel and a member of the Executive Team. He became Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in January 2011, before taking on his current role as Executive Vice President and General Counsel in January 2015. He is a member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and is also a member of the NWNA Board of Directors. 

Charlie is responsible for leading the continued development and evolution of the company's legal, compliance and regulatory strategy, focused on the intersection of law, government and business.  He has a wealth of international experience encompassing a broad range of legal and non-legal disciplines, including at times managing the company’s strategy in areas including safety, security, real estate and facilities, executive compensation and benefits, and government relations.

Outside NWNA, Charlie has served and/or continues to serve on a number of for-profit and non-profit boards of directors and advisory boards across the United States, including the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, International Bottled Water Association, Stamford Police Foundation, Financial Engines, A to Z Wineworks and (California) Wine Institute.

Prior to joining NWNA, Charlie was an in-house counsel at Diageo plc, where he held a number of roles looking after legal matters across Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and the United States, as well as M&A and global securities filings. Before Diageo, Charlie was a corporate, M&A and finance attorney with Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP (previously Hunton & Williams LLP) in New York, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore, representing companies such as PepsiCo, Kraft and Brink’s. During law school, he served as a summer law clerk to Chief Justice E. Norman Veasey of the Delaware Supreme Court.  Prior to attending law school, Charlie worked in Washington, D.C. for three years as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Joe Biden and for the G7 Group, an international political and economic advisory firm.

Charlie holds a B.A. from Washington & Lee University and a J.D. from Duke University, and is a member of the New York and Connecticut bar.
