Nestlé Waters North America’s Statement on the Request for Information from the House Committee on Oversight and Reform

Go back to Press Releases

We have received the request for information from the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, Subcommittee on Environment and will cooperate fully.

At Nestlé Waters North America (NWNA), it is our business and our passion to care for water, and we take it seriously. We recognize the significant responsibility we have as a bottled water company to operate responsibly and sustainably today, and well into the future. We operate under the principles of putting our communities first, being good stewards of water and the environment, and promoting healthy hydration.

We work with local, state, and federal agencies to help ensure we meet all regulatory requirements, and we have strict procedures in place to maintain the sustainability of our operations. We are transparent about our product quality. Since 2005, we have made detailed water quality reports publicly available for our brands, which can be found on our Nestlé Waters North America website.

We are proud to support our local communities in a variety of ways, including working alongside government agencies, regulators, and NGOs to help protect the future of water. We invest in infrastructure, contribute money, water, and volunteer hours to local organizations, and provide water donations and disaster relief in times of emergency. We are committed to water stewardship, responsible packaging and minimizing the environmental impact associated with our operations. Further, Nestlé Waters has committed to certify all of its factories with the Alliance for Water Stewardship standard by 2025, and to date, NWNA has certified nine of our factories, including two facilities that have achieved Gold level certification. Additionally, NWNA has committed to the use of 25% recycled plastic (rPET) across our U.S. domestic portfolio by 2021, and 50% by 2025. Last month, we were proud to announce that our ReadyRefresh® by Nestlé® delivery service achieved carbon neutrality in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol.
