Nestlé Sponsors “Hiring Our Heroes” Job Fair with the Texas Rangers for Military Community

In partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, event will offer employment opportunities to veterans and veteran spouses from more than 100 employers

ARLINGTON, Texas – (September 12, 2017) – Nestlé in the U.S. is joining the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to help host “Hiring Our Heroes,” a job fair for service members, veterans, and military spouses taking place today at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The event is part of the Veteran Career Support Partnership between Nestlé and Hiring Our Heroes.

More than 100 employers are expected to participate with jobs available for military personnel of all ranks and levels of experience. Companies participating in the event range from America's largest employers to dozens of smaller companies from across the region. All registered veterans and military spouses are eligible to receive up to two free tickets to attend that evening's game between the Rangers and the Mariners.

Prior to the expo opening, Hiring Our Heroes will offer a free employment workshop focusing on resume translation, networking, job search tools, and techniques for job seekers. The workshop will also feature remarks from Medal of Honor Recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer, USMC, who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Ganjgal in Afghanistan. Meyer is the first living Marine in 38 years to be so honored.

Launched in 2011, Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment and Nestlé is sponsoring numerous Hiring Our Heroes events around the country. Working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s vast network of state and local chambers and other strategic partners from the public, private and nonprofit sectors, Hiring Our Heroes has helped hundreds of thousands of veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment through more than 1,000 job fairs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, and on military installations overseas; a suite of free online career-based resources; and the Hiring 500,000 Heroes campaign.
