(STAMFORD, Conn., September 20, 2016) The Connecticut Law Tribune, the state’s leading legal industry news journal, has named the Nestlé Waters North America (NWNA) legal team among the winners of its 2016 Legal Departments of the Year awards.  Specifically, the team was named the recipient of the 2016 Community Outreach Award.

Despite its small size, the company’s legal team, led by Executive Vice President and General Counsel Charles Broll, has volunteered more than 700 hours so far in 2016. Additionally, team members, including Ola Adeyemo, Alda Braccia, David Hassi, Jackie Leung, Brian Nurse, Laura Petrillo, Lee Soffer, and Judy Steckler, serve on a variety of Boards including Stamford Boys & Girls Club, Connecticut Make-a-Wish and the Stamford Police Foundation. They are also strong supporters of company programs like the Better Lives Food Drive and Back to School Backpack program, and other NWNA activities in the community.

The contest honors excellence in corporate legal departments.  The six categories of achievement are: in-house legal work, community outreach, outside counsel management, in-house counsel management, regulatory and compliance management, and an outstanding individual impact.

The winners will be honored at an event on November 10 at the Bond Ballroom in Hartford.
