Bottled water, like all packaged goods, has an environmental impact. Nestlé Waters North America is working hard to reduce that impact. As a company that depends on natural resources, it's in NWNA's best interest to make sure those resources are sustainable for generations to come. Nestlé Waters was the first the first beverage manufacturer to build plants in America with U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. The company saves fuel by producing bottles right in its plants and by taking a local approach to distribution. Over the past 18 years, NWNA has reduced the amount of PET plastic in its bottles by 60%. Today, NWNA is advocating for better recycling models to improve recapture rates and further reduce its impact.
