BlueTriton Brands commits funding to future revitalization of District of Hope downtown core and Spray Pad in Memorial Park

Hope, British Columbia — April 9, 2024 — BlueTriton Brands Canada today announced a $20,000 commitment to support the District of Hope’s corporate fundraising initiative to bring a spray pad to Memorial Park which is part of the downtown revitalization plan.

“We began working with the Hope Chamber of Commerce, Advantage Hope and Mayor Smith in 2023 to identify an opportunity to work with the community to revitalize the downtown core,” said Scott McIntyre, VP and General Manager of BlueTriton Brands Canada.

The District of Hope conducted a study in 2023 with local community partners to understand what the downtown core needed to make the area more vibrant. One of the recommendations was to introduce a spray pad to Memorial Park as part of the revitalization. The spray pad is a zero-depth water play area with active water where residents can cool off during the summer season. “Our discussions with local community officials and partners identified the spray pad as an opportunity to show our commitment to the District of Hope and the downtown revitalization plans,” said McIntyre.

“We felt the spray pad in the downtown core would encourage more families to gather and enjoy outdoor activities in Memorial Park,” said McIntyre.

“The District of Hope is proud of our community partnerships and the revitalization plans for the downtown core,” said Mayor Victor Smith. “This would not happen without the continued commitment and assistance of BlueTriton Brands and other local companies,” said Mayor Smith.

“The Chamber of Commerce is happy to be coordinating the fundraising for the new spray pad in Memorial Park in downtown Hope,” said George Rice, President of the Hope Chamber of Commerce. “We are grateful to BlueTriton for their generous donation to kick-start the fundraising campaign and look forward to more organizations joining this great community project.”
